Privacy Policy

Overview

Fernando does not collect, store, sell, rent, or share personal information. The app works without accounts, analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party data collection tools. It has no server of its own, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent to us. The app makes network requests in one case only — fetching a weather forecast from Apple, so that Grand Theft Auto IV’s radio can follow a real city’s weather. Exactly what that sends, and to whom, is spelled out below.

Your Game Files

Fernando plays radio by reading audio files you import from your own copies of the supported games. Imported files are kept in the app's private storage, processed entirely on your device, and never uploaded or shared. Removing a game from your library in the app, or deleting the app, deletes them.

Weather and Location

Grand Theft Auto IV’s radio changes with the weather and the time of day in a real city. That city is New York unless you change it, and the default involves your location in no way at all. In the app’s Settings, under Weather, you can pick a different city — either by searching for it by name, or by choosing Current Location.

If you choose Current Location. The app asks for location permission at that moment and not before, and asks only for “While Using the App”. It requests reduced accuracy from the system, takes a single reading — it does not follow you, and never reads your location in the background — and turns that reading into a city name using Apple Maps. The precise reading is then gone: before anything is saved or sent anywhere, the coordinates are rounded to two decimal places, roughly a kilometre, and only the rounded pair is ever used again.

What is stored, and where. The chosen city’s name and its rounded coordinates are saved on your device, and so is the hourly forecast, so the radio keeps playing the right weather while you are offline. Both live in the app’s own storage, both are deleted when you delete the app, and you can change the city or switch back to New York at any time in Settings.

What leaves your device, and who receives it. Only Apple, and only this:

• Apple WeatherKit receives the rounded coordinates and a range of hours, and returns the forecast for them.
• Apple Maps receives what you type while searching for a city, and, if you chose Current Location, that one reading, in order to name the city it falls in.
• Apple’s servers are asked for the “Apple Weather” trademark image shown in Settings, which Apple’s terms require the app to display wherever its weather data appears.

Those are Apple’s own services, and Apple handles those requests under its own privacy policy. Nothing on that list reaches us. Fernando has no server to send it to, we receive no location from the app at any accuracy, and the app uses your location for nothing other than deciding which city’s weather to ask Apple about. None of it is tied to an identity, an account, or an advertising profile, and none of it is used for tracking.

Data We Collect

We do not collect personal data, usage data, device identifiers, contact information, or payment information through Fernando. We do not receive your location either: as described above, the app can read it at your request and send it to Apple for a forecast, but it is never sent to us, and we operate no server that could receive it.

Third Parties

Fernando includes no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking services, ours or anyone else’s. The only outside services it uses are Apple’s own — WeatherKit and Apple Maps, described above — and Apple processes those requests under its own privacy policy. If you download the app through the App Store, Apple may process information under that same policy.
